Great Dane Rescue in Texas: Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas
This Texas Great Dane Rescue is located in Houston. This is an organization run fully by a team of dedicated volunteers, experienced with Great Danes. According to their website, their mission is to rescue the Great Danes that have found themselves in unfortunate situations, such as being abandoned by owners, being surrendered to the other shelters, as well as sick and neglected Great Danes. They primarily serve the area of Houston.
Every Great Dane that comes into the Care of this Texas Great Dane rescue is vet inspected and medically treated for any health issues they may have. They are also spayed or neutered and examined for parasites. Each dog’s temperament is evaluated and every Great Dane is taught basic behavior and manners so that their transition to the new home is easier for both the dog and the owners.
If you are interested in adopting a Great Dane from this Rescue, you will go through a standard process of filling in an application, provide references and go through an interview and a home visit. If you are approved, you will be able to meet some of the suitable dogs in their foster homes. You will have to pay an adoption fee which varies from $200 to $400 depending on the age of the dog.
If you can’t adopt a dog, but would like to help in some other way, please consider volunteering and/or fostering a Great Dane. As a volunteer, you could help out in dog transporting, help with media, website and photography, fundraising, events, and many other aspects.
Fostering is another fantastic way to help out! As a foster “parent”, you would host a dog until the permanent home is found. This is a very rewarding way to learn more about Great Danes and the life with them as well as help out the Rescue so they can take in even more Great Danes.
As many other rescues, Great Dane Rescue of Southeast Texas is funded by sponsors and via donation fees.
